This Privacy & Cookie Policy explains how WaversClub may collect, use, store, disclose, protect, and otherwise process personal information when users interact with the platform.
Depending on how the platform is used, information may include:
Date of birth may be collected to establish eligibility and apply age-appropriate platform protections. WaversClub may derive an age category such as 15–17 or 18+. The age category is enforced through backend authorization and platform permissions.
Information may be used to create and operate accounts, provide platform functionality, facilitate connections, support collaboration, personalize relevant experiences, provide recommendations, maintain security, prevent fraud, moderate content, protect minors, process transactions, provide customer support, communicate with users, analyze platform performance, improve services, and comply with legal obligations.
Where applicable, personal information may be processed based on performance of a contract, legitimate interests, consent, legal obligations, protection of users and platform security, or other lawful bases available under applicable law.
WaversClub may use cookies or similar technologies in categories such as necessary, functional, analytics, security, personalization, and marketing. The platform only describes and activates categories that actually exist in the production implementation.
Where consent is legally required, users are provided appropriate controls to manage optional cookies. Necessary security and operational technologies may remain active where legally permitted.
Information may be shared with infrastructure, authentication, payment, communication, analytics, security, moderation, and professional service providers, and legal authorities where legally required. Third parties only receive information reasonably necessary for their relevant function.
Some service providers may process information outside Nigeria. Where applicable, WaversClub implements appropriate safeguards required by applicable law.
WaversClub implements reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, disclosure, and destruction. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose, legal obligations, dispute resolution, security, fraud prevention, legitimate business needs, or other lawful purposes.
WaversClub may send transactional, operational, security, service, and policy-related communications. Marketing communications are handled separately where consent or an equivalent legal basis is required.
WaversClub may use available information to recommend relevant people, communities, skills, opportunities, projects, content, and professional connections. Recommendation systems respect age-based safety restrictions.
WaversClub may use automated technologies for moderation, spam detection, security, recommendations, fraud detection, categorization, and platform optimization. Automated systems may make mistakes and may be subject to human review where appropriate.
Subject to applicable law, users may have rights concerning their personal information, including access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, withdrawal of consent, data portability, and complaint or regulatory review. The platform provides appropriate mechanisms for relevant requests.
Users aged 15–17 receive enhanced privacy and safety protections. WaversClub limits unnecessary exposure of minor users' sensitive information. Precise location, private contact details, and other sensitive information are not unnecessarily exposed through public or adult-facing discovery.
WaversClub may contain links or integrations leading to third-party services. WaversClub is not responsible for third-party privacy practices outside its control.
Where a data breach or security incident occurs, WaversClub will assess the incident and take appropriate action consistent with applicable law and its incident-response procedures.
This policy may be updated from time to time. Material changes may require renewed user acceptance where appropriate.
